Perfect for any special occasion, this dreamy dessert offers a harmonious blend of textures and flavors, finished with whipped cream, caramel drizzle, and chocolate shavings for an indulgent treat.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Brownie Base:

  • 1 package of brownie mix (plus additional ingredients as directed on the package, typically eggs and oil)

For the Cheesecake Layer:

  • 24 ounces (three 8-ounce packages) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

For the Caramel Swirl:

  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce (plus extra for drizzling on top)

For Garnish:

  • Whipped cream
  • Chocolate shavings

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Brownie Base: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch springform pan. Prepare the brownie batter according to package instructions, then pour it into the pan. Bake as directed, then cool completely to ensure the cheesecake layer won’t melt into it.
  2. Make the Cheesecake Layer: Lower oven temperature to 325°F (160°C). In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and sugar until smooth and creamy, about 2 minutes. Add vanilla, eggs, sour cream, and heavy cream, mixing until fully smooth and lump-free for a rich texture.
  3. Add the Caramel Swirl: Pour the cheesecake batter over the cooled brownie base. Drizzle half of the caramel sauce on top and gently swirl it in using a knife or toothpick to create a marbled effect without overmixing to retain distinct caramel streaks.
  4. Bake the Cheesecake: Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until the center is set but slightly jiggly. Avoid overbaking to keep the cheesecake creamy. After baking, turn off the oven and let the cheesecake cool inside for about an hour, then bring to room temperature.
  5. Chill and Garnish: Refrigerate the cooled cheesecake for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow flavors to meld and deepen. Before serving, garnish with whipped cream, extra caramel drizzle, and chocolate shavings for added texture and sweetness.

Notes

  • Make sure the brownie base is completely cooled before adding the cheesecake layer to maintain distinct layers.
  • Use a springform pan for easy removal of the cheesecake.
  • Avoid overbaking the cheesecake to prevent cracks and dryness; the center should remain slightly jiggly.
  • Chilling overnight enhances flavor and texture for best results.
  • Optional toppings like chocolate shavings and whipped cream add visual appeal and complementary texture.
