Ingredients

Scale

Pasta

  • 1 pound bowtie pasta

Cheese Mixture

  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Meat and Sauce

  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 24 ounces pasta sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit to get it ready for baking later.
  2. Cook Pasta: Bring a large pot of water to a boil on the stovetop. Add the bowtie pasta and cook until al dente, then drain and return to the pot.
  3. Cook Ground Beef: While the pasta cooks, heat a medium skillet over medium heat and cook the ground beef until fully browned. Drain any excess grease from the skillet.
  4. Combine Ingredients: In a large bowl, add the cooked ground beef. Cut the cream cheese into chunks and add it to the bowl along with the milk and pasta sauce. Mix well until the cream cheese is fully blended with the ground beef and sauce.
  5. Mix Pasta and Sauce: Add the cooked pasta into the bowl with the meat and cheese mixture and stir to thoroughly combine all ingredients.
  6. Prepare Baking Dish: Spray a baking dish with non-stick cooking spray to prevent sticking. Pour the pasta mixture evenly into the dish.
  7. Add Cheese Topping: Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly on top of the pasta mixture.
  8. Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the mozzarella cheese is melted and bubbly.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for the ground beef to make it leaner.
  • Feel free to add vegetables like spinach or mushrooms to the mixture for extra nutrition.
  • Use low-fat cream cheese or part-skim mozzarella to reduce fat content.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven or microwave.
  • Make sure to not overcook the pasta during boiling as it will continue to cook during baking.
