Ingredients

Scale

Turkey Salad Ingredients

  • 3 cups diced turkey
  • 1 cup finely diced celery stalks
  • ½ red onion, finely diced
  • ¾ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon dried dill (or 1 teaspoon fresh dill)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Turkey and Vegetables: Dice the turkey into small bite-sized pieces and add it to a large mixing bowl along with the finely diced celery and red onion.
  2. Make Dressing: In a separate small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, salt, ground black pepper, and dried dill. Whisk together until smooth and well mixed.
  3. Combine Salad: Pour the mayonnaise dressing over the bowl containing turkey, celery, and onions. Stir gently but thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly coated with the dressing.
  4. Serve or Chill: You can serve the turkey salad immediately; however, it’s best to chill it in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes to let the flavors meld and distribute evenly. Serve chilled or at room temperature as desired.

Notes

  • Use freshly cooked or leftover turkey for best flavor and texture.
  • Adjust the amount of mayonnaise based on your preferred creaminess level.
  • Fresh dill can be used instead of dried; use about three times the amount.
  • Try adding other ingredients such as chopped apples or grapes for sweetness and crunch.
  • This salad pairs well with bread for sandwiches or on a bed of greens for a lighter lunch.
