Ingredients

Scale

Ham and Cheese Sticks

  • 2 tubes crescent dough sheets
  • 1 pound deli-sliced ham
  • 8 cheddar cheese sticks

Butter Glaze

  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • ½ tablespoon dried minced onion or onion powder
  • ½ tablespoon poppy seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. Prepare Dough Pieces: Roll out the crescent dough sheets and cut each one into 4 pieces, resulting in a total of 8 pieces.
  3. Assemble Sticks: Evenly distribute the deli-sliced ham among the 8 dough pieces. On top of the ham on each piece, place one cheddar cheese stick. Fold in the ends of the dough pieces and roll them up tightly to seal in the ham and cheese.
  4. Arrange on Baking Sheet: Place each assembled ham and cheese stick onto the prepared baking sheet with some space between them.
  5. Prepare Butter Glaze: In a small bowl, combine melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, dried minced onion or onion powder, and poppy seeds. Mix well to create the glaze.
  6. Brush Sticks: Generously brush the butter glaze over each ham and cheese stick for enhanced flavor and a golden finish.
  7. Bake: Bake the sticks in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until they turn golden brown and the cheese is melted inside.
  8. Serve: Remove from the oven and enjoy your Ham and Cheese Sticks hot and fresh as a delicious snack or appetizer.

Notes

  • You can substitute cheddar cheese sticks with mozzarella or pepper jack for a different flavor.
  • For extra crispiness, use parchment paper lining the baking sheet.
  • Keep an eye on the sticks in the last few minutes of baking to avoid burning.
  • These sticks are best served fresh but can be reheated in the oven for a few minutes to regain crispness.
