Ingredients

Scale

Crescent Rolls

  • 1 package Pillsbury Crescent Rolls (8 count)

Pecan Pie Filling

  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Baking Sheet: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easy. Set aside while you prepare the filling.
  2. Mix Pecan Pie Filling: In a large bowl, thoroughly combine the sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, vanilla extract, and egg. Reserve 2 tablespoons of this mixture in a small bowl for later use as a glaze. Next, fold the chopped pecans into the remaining filling mixture to coat them evenly.
  3. Prepare Crescent Rolls: Unroll the Pillsbury Crescent Rolls dough and separate into individual triangles. Place the triangles spaced apart on the prepared baking sheet. Spoon 2 to 3 tablespoons of the pecan filling onto the widest part of each triangle.
  4. Roll and Bake: Starting at the wide end, carefully roll each crescent up toward the pointed tip, fully encasing the filling. Position each roll seam side down on the baking sheet. Bake for about 8 minutes or until the rolls begin to turn lightly golden.
  5. Glaze and Finish Baking: Remove the crescent rolls from the oven and generously brush the tops with the reserved pecan filling mixture saved earlier. Return the rolls to the oven and bake an additional 5 minutes or until the tops are deeply golden and glossy. Remove from the oven and, if desired, sprinkle with extra chopped pecans for added crunch and presentation.

Notes

  • Use fresh, refrigerated crescent roll dough for best texture and flakiness.
  • Light corn syrup provides an authentic sticky pecan pie texture, but dark corn syrup can be substituted for a richer flavor.
  • You can add a pinch of salt to the filling if using unsalted butter and unsalted pecans.
  • For extra flavor, toast the chopped pecans lightly before mixing into the filling.
  • Serve warm for best taste and texture; leftovers can be stored refrigerated and reheated briefly before serving.
