Tacos
- 6 6-inch tortillas
- Olive oil spray or brush, for tortillas
Ground Beef Mixture
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup onion, chopped
- 1–2 tablespoons taco seasoning, or more to taste
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/4 cup salsa
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
- Cook Ground Beef and Onion: In a medium-sized skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until the beef is browned and fully cooked. Stir occasionally to break the meat apart. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Season Beef: Drain excess fat from the skillet. Add 1-2 tablespoons of taco seasoning along with 1/4 cup salsa to the cooked beef. Stir well and adjust seasoning as desired. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until heated through and flavorful.
- Prepare Tortillas: Lightly spray or brush both sides of each tortilla with olive oil. This will help them crisp up nicely in the oven.
- Assemble Tacos: Place the tortillas on the prepared baking sheet. Spoon about 1/4 cup of the seasoned beef mixture onto one side of each tortilla. Sprinkle about 1 tablespoon of shredded cheddar cheese over the meat. Fold each tortilla in half to form tacos.
- Bake Tacos: Bake the assembled tacos in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Flip them with a spatula halfway through baking to crisp both sides evenly.
- Serve: Once baked, remove from the oven and serve warm. These sheet pan tacos are delicious by themselves or with your favorite taco toppings like sour cream, guacamole, or extra salsa.
Notes
- You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
- Feel free to add extra toppings such as lettuce, tomatoes, jalapeños, or avocado after baking.
- Adjust the amount of taco seasoning and salsa based on your preferred spice level.
- If you prefer softer tacos, reduce the baking time or omit flipping.
