Salad Base
- 1 3.4 ounce package instant butterscotch pudding mix
- 1 cup milk
- 6 ounces Cool Whip (or whipped cream)
Fruit and Candy
- 3 large Granny Smith apples, cut into 1/2″ pieces (reserve 1/2 cup for garnish)
- 6 full-size Snickers Candy Bars, cut into 1/2″ pieces (reserve 1/2 cup for garnish)
Topping
- 2 tablespoons caramel sauce
- Prepare the pudding mixture: In a medium sized mixing bowl, add the instant butterscotch pudding mix and milk. Whisk together until the mixture is smooth and well combined. Then gently fold in the Cool Whip until the mixture is creamy and uniform.
- Combine apples and Snickers: Add the diced Granny Smith apples and chopped Snickers bars to the pudding mixture. Carefully fold them in to evenly distribute the ingredients without breaking up the apples or candy bars. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to serve.
- Serve and garnish: Just before serving, gently stir the salad to recombine. Transfer to a serving bowl, then drizzle the caramel sauce over the top. Sprinkle the reserved apple pieces and Snickers pieces on the salad as garnish. Enjoy immediately for the best texture and flavor.
Notes
- For best results, use chilled ingredients to keep the salad cold and refreshing.
- Granny Smith apples are recommended for their tartness that balances the sweetness.
- This salad is best served the same day but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
- Substitute whipped cream for Cool Whip to make a fresher tasting salad.
- Chop Snickers bars just before mixing to prevent them from melting or getting too soft.
